Be Your Own Predator

18 February, 2019

Today I had a great thought while I was reading outside of the library. I was thinking of animals and the way that all of them have predators. Animals, including humans, evolved because predators killed the ones that weren't fit enough to survive. This is what caused animals to change, over time, to become better versions of their species. The problem with humans is that we don't have a life-threatening predator that forces us to change, so it has become really easy to stay in our comfort zones without having to change. In order to evolve, we need change, we need this sense of fear that pushes us to go past our comforts. Since no one is always here to push us in that sense, I think we need to do it ourselves. We need to be our own predators. You need to keep forcing yourself to do things that you aren't comfortable doing. You need to force yourself to take risks, no matter how many times you fall. This is the only way to change, to evolve, and to become a better version of yourself, and of your species. This is the only way to become a better human.

Be your own predator.
